If you’re looking to express your love to your soul-mate, do it tonight! Today, November 14th the Earth will have its closest encounter with the moon in nearly 70 years. It will make the moon look enormous and luminous, hanging in the night sky.
Referred to as the Super Moon or the Beaver Moon, this phenomenon takes place when a full moon coincides with the moon’s perigee – a point in its orbit when the moon makes its closest approach to Earth.
While the moon will be up to 14 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter, NASA reports that the last time the moon came as close as this Monday was in January 1948, when it was actually 29 miles closer. The next similar full moon won’t be until November 24, 2034.
So, get ready to witness a vibrant sky with an orange, red hue, perfect to set your heart racing!
