Google pushes Android into a new version of mobile operating system, Android 6.0 as it will be titled ‘Marshmallow’ is going to be installed in the new Nexus phones.
Nexus phones are expected in September, given in hand that Google might just stick to its annual release process with no changes. Hype built up when the new Nexus phone rumors stated that Google is releasing two Nexus phones, Regular size and plus-size, this might sound like an Apple rip-off but let’s take a look.
Nexus 5 & Nexus 6
Information revealed that LG is going to be working with the Nexus 5 and this one is standing out slightly larger, 5.2 inches and that is bigger than the iPhone 6 screen. Nexus 6 is designed with a 5.7-inch display and again, larger than the iPhone 6 plus’ screen. Both will be loaded with the Fingerprint reader which might seem to some people as a trick taken from the Apple notebook, but this time Google is taken it all the way to the back of the phone, disabling PIN codes for unlocking phones and it will be used for making purchases with compatible apps.
Google stood out this time by changing the USB port from Micro-USB to Type-C. This solution solved the problem of almost everyone of not knowing the right way to plug your charger into your phone, Type-C only works in one direction and it charges at a faster rate than the regular USB cables used nowadays. Last but not least, software updates were taken to be downloaded from Google itself which will be better since the Android security flaw was discovered last month and updates will be happening monthly, this will be applied to all Nexus devices from Phones to smart TV boxes, there will be no need for a third-party carrier or manufacturer to tweak them.
