Consumer Virtual Reality is on its way. At least Reports suggest so! Right after HP introduced its new Omen gaming brand, the company is now in the process to give shape to a concept called Omen X, a gaming PC stuffed into a laptopesque form factor.
Reports suggest that the new concept from HP will be worn as a backpack and fitted with hot-swappable batteries. Targeted at gaming enthusiasts, the Omen X will feature two USB Type-A ports, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, up to 32GB of memory, one DC output jack for headphone power and a graphics card of some sort.
The backpack promises to be comfortable and tough at the same time. Weighing less than 10 pounds, Omen X will be less prone to overheating. However, it is the portability that pulls us to this new concept. Sling it on your shoulder, remove the cables, attach the headset and straps, and get ready to dive into a virtual zone!
Interesting, isn’t it? Given this model can be used as a desktop and a VR backpack, we can’t wait to watch the concept come to life!
