It was a proud moment for Tunisia as the 27-year-old Tunisian wrestler Marwa Amri won the bronze medal in under-58 kg women’s wrestling at the Rio Olympics. Marwa’s victory marked a second win for the nation in a row. The first one, also a bronze, was won by Ines Boubakri in women’s fencing.
The wrestling champion defeated Yuliya Ratkevich of Azerbaijan to secure her medal. Born in Tunisia, Marwa represented her nation in the freestyle wrestling in 2012 Summer Olympics in London too.
India’s Sakshi Malik, who won the second repechage, also won bronze. Kaori Icho of Japan won the gold while Russia’s Valeriia Koblova Zholobova took silver. Well! Women surely are leading the sports scene at Rio. Way to go girls!
