Jordanian Movie Theeb Nominated for Oscar


There might be Oscar history in the horizon for Jordan!

The much acclaimed movie Theeb has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category!

The movie tracks the story of Theeb, a Bedouin kid who follows his older brother as he escorts a British officer across the desert during the Ottoman era.

Theeb has already gotten nominated for two awards at Britian’s prestigious Baftas.

Theeb is directed by Naji Abu Nowar and written by Naji abu Nowar and Bassel Ghandour.

It was shot in the stunning and breathtaking Wadi Rum.

Queen Rania has already tweeted about it: “Thrilled about Theeb’s nomination for the #Oscars2016, a Jordanian production shot in the beautiful mountains of Wadi Rum. I hope it wins!”
