The next time you crave for a McDonald’s meal, just go and feast on it! Reports suggest that the fast-food giant will discontinue the use of artificial products in its products with real ingredients.
The Illinois-based company aims to remove artificial preservatives from Chicken McNuggets and several breakfast items, including scrambled eggs, omelets, sausage patties and bagel. The company will replace the artificial preservatives with pea and rice starches. In addition, the high-fructose corn syrup, which has been believed to lead to obesity and diabetes, will also be replaced with sugar or sucrose.
The move comes at a time when an increased number of consumers are demanding healthier food options with fewer artificial ingredients. That’s not all, McDonald’s had also stopped buying chicken raised with antibiotics important to human medicine from its suppliers, since last year.
