Historically, music has always been an important element for the royal fraternity. On a similar note, a recent scientific study showcases the benefits of listening to music while at work.

Block Unsolicited Noises: If your workplace is noisy, you might lose focus and experience decrease in productivity. But research suggests that if you’re listening to music, it blocks out excessive noises and lets you stay calm and composed, just perfect to function well.

Block Stress-Hormones: Research indicates that if you listen to music while working on repetitive tasks, you tend to make few or less errors. This happens because music triggers the release of feel-good neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine, which help you feel relaxed and happy and, therefore, focus better.

Block Depression: New music, the study suggests involves an element of novelty. Hence if you’re feeling depressed it is suggested to listen to new music. As new music is novel, it causes the body to feel some degree of pleasure, drawing your attention to the tune and turning away from depression.
