We often hear corporates make positive talks about supporting start-ups and budding entrepreneurs. While many actually take a step to support the budding entrepreneurs, most of these are essentially just one-off PR exercises for the organisation running them. While this may be a well-adapted practice by most corporates in the Middle East, Zain Jordan has chosen to do things differently. The telecom provider has not only launched Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) at the King Hussein Business Park in Amman, but is also encouraging and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs through participation at varied international events.
This year, Zain Jordan in collaboration with ICT Association of Jordan (int@j), Manaseer Group, Jordan Tourism Board, USAID, Qattous Group and Luminus Group is participating at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) which runs in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2, 2017 to support the Jordanian start-ups establish and reinforce their presence at an international forum.
With a total of 21 Jordanian companies taking part in the international event, the first day of the MWC commenced on a grand note. The Jordanian Pavilion witnessed visitors from several high-profile individuals and dignitaries including H.E. Majd Shweikeh, the Minister of ICT who visited the pavilion in an attempt to extend her support to the Jordanian participants presenting their entrepreneurial ventures.
Zain Jordan’s CEO Ahmad Hanandeh, who has been spearheading the growth and development of ZINC, also extended his support and encouragement to the participants at Jordanian pavilion. All in all, the first day of the conference witnessed great fervour and enthusiasm from the Jordanian entrepreneurs and visitors.
The Jordanian companies participating at MWC Barcelona are Globitel, Eskadenia, MenaITech, Snackable News, Repzo, Audiogram, A Minute Marvel, Audiogram, Bilforon, Mind Rockets, Bee Labs, Cash Basha, Tag Tac, Edaura, Flux, Tamatem, ZMission and many more.
