The heat was on as eighty gorgeous contestants walked the ramp! The 2015 Miss Universe beauty pageant that took place on December 20 2015, permitted public voting for the first time, to define the deserving winner.
The 64th Miss Universe pageant this year took into consideration audience opinion through real-time voting. The audience members scored the participants in the swimsuit, evening gown, final question and final look categories. The final results were equated and factored with the judges’ scores to elect the first semi-democratic Miss Universe. In addition, fans also had an opportunity submit interesting suggestions for the final question on Facebook.
However, it was a moment of shock and embarrassment when the Pageant’s host Steve Harvey misread the card and declared Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner instead of Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Though Steve quickly rectified the slip-up, the people were left wondering if the faux pas was done on purpose. Come on folks, it could truly be a mistake, after all, isn’t it human to err….! Well, is it really?
