Intaj & GSTF Announces Key Note Speakers for its Upcoming Conference

The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan – Intaj supported by the Global Science and Technology Forum – GSTF, Singapore announced its roster of speakers, featuring multiple influential business heads for its upcoming one-day conference titled- Transforming Societies and Enabling Digital Economies for Smart Nations. To be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, the conference will take place on 29th August 2016 at King Hussein Business Park, Jordan.

The conference will provide a rare opportunity for entrepreneurs, academicians and government officials to come together and explore the computer paradigm that supports Jordan and the region. The featured speakers will cover a variety of subjects at the conference including: Internet of Things, Big Data and Cloud Computing. Notable speakers will include Dr. Anton Ravindran, Prof. Liz Bacon and Mr. Teng Theng Dar.

Dr. Anton is the CEO and Founder of RapidStart, President of Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF) and an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Information Systems at Bina Nusantara University, Indonesia. Dr. Ravindran is currently an Advisor and mentor to FundedHerere, TiKEE Pty Ltd, AutoLotto as well as DBS BusinessClass and has worked for several major IT companies such as Oracle and IBM and has founded and spearheaded four IT companies. In addition, he has won several entrepreneurship awards including Singapore ASME Top Entrepreneur for two years (2005 & 2006) and Singapore Indian Entrepreneur for large enterprises (2006).

Prof. Liz is a Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Greenwich. She is a Professor of Software Engineering with over a hundred publications and a Co-Director of the e-Centre research group. She has been involved in several EU research projects, including being Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator for two EU FP7 projects in the past four years. Within technology enhanced learning her research has focused on various areas such as: smart games-based learning environments; metacognition and learning strategies; and adaptable, adaptive and personalized systems. Prof. Bacon has been involved in many professional activities during her career which include working with e-skills UK, the Science Council, the National HE STEM programme, EKKA (Estonian Quality Assurance Agency) and the University of Cambridge as an ICT Thought Leader for their International Examinations.

Mr. Dar is currently serving as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, MFA Singapore and as an Adviser, External Relations for SE Asia Region, Shizuoka Prefecture Government in Japan. He is also a member of Advisory Board, Singapore National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA); Steering Committee member, ASEAN-Japan Business Group, and a life member of Japan University Graduates Association Singapore (JUGAS). He is the Founder of Business Compass Consultancy, Chairman of Barterfli Holdings Pte Ltd, Chairman, Xpert Bees Pte Ltd (Corporate services and advisory platform), GAC Ventures Pte Ltd amongst other board positions. Mr. Teng Theng Dar has been working with business partners, communities and enabling platform operators to offer holistic eco-system for borderless co-creation and business collaborations among entrepreneurs.
