It was a night of glitter and paparazzi as the best of Hollywood dressed as royals descended at the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards. While Hollywood’s finest gathered to toast the best in TV and film, the star-studded event turned out to be a night of surprises.
The grand award was hosted by ‘The Tonight Show’s’ Jimmy Fallon who had very little contribution in making the award night a memorable one. Considered as one of the best comedians who hosts a TV show five nights a week, Jimmy Fallon’s speech was utterly disappointing.
The critically-acclaimed musical La La Land, broke the record for most wins by any one film. It won all seven of the categories it was nominated in, including a Best Actor statuette for Ryan Gosling, Best Actress for Emma Stone and Best Director for its auteur Damien Chazelle.
The coming-of-age story Moonlight took home Best Picture, while the August Wilson play adaptation Fences earned a nod for its female lead. As with the TV, The Night Manager took home three awards, more than any other. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, The Crown and Atlanta also won awards.
All in all the Golden Globes Award was a night of achievements, enthusiasm and full of surprises!
