Just a day to go and the prestigious Cannes Film Festival will commence! From May 16 to 27, it’s going to be two full weeks of appreciating great artistry and merriment. And indeed, there are a lot of great films from all over the world lined up for review at this year’s Cannes.

But tomorrow’s opening ceremony will have US director Wes Andersons film “Moonrise Kingdom” making the keynote. It’s a film about pre-teen elopement which includes Bruce Willis in its cast.

Among the contenders in the said category are “The Paperboy” directed by Lee Daniels and “Mud” by Jeff Nichols. And let’s not forget David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis” which stars Robert Pattinson as a big time banker. Also in the running for the Palm d’Or this year is Andrew Dominik’s “Killing Them Softly,” John Hillcoat’s “Lawless” and Walter Sales’ “On The Road.” And these are the just by American film makers.

Indeed pop princess Britney Spears is more than ready to shine in Simon Cowell’s X Factor USA! She’s so excited about being a part of the talent search and she feels it’s going to be so much fun since it’s quite different from anything she’s ever done before.

But aside from Britney, also included in the new X Factor is Disney sweetheart Demi Lovato! For her part, Demi is excited to represent her generation and to find a new winner! There’s hasn’t been much buzz about Demi joining the show but it’s great that Simon got her on board!

There’s no stopping Paris Hilton’s musical comeback! It won’t be long now before her new single gets released! The new single entitled “After Midnight” will be released sometime this summer.

So far the quoted date is June 5, though that’s still unconfirmed. Brazilian website Livepass also reported that it will premiere on the Ryan Seacrest radio show. And Paris will also be performing it live in Sao Paolo on June 23 during the Pop Musical Festival.

Music video for the said track will be released soon after as Paris will shoot it later this month.

Will a reality TV show bring the late Whitney Houston’s family together or will it further break them apart? We’ll see about that! But apparently, “The Houston Family Chronicles” is set to air later this year! Lifetime Network has acquired rights to 10-hour long episodes of the Chronicles.

On Friday, May 11, a representative of the Houston family has already confirmed that there will indeed be a reality TV show about the family.

As the title implies, this show will capture the day-by-day lives of the family that the late Diva Whitney left behind. Though the main focus will be on Whitney’s brother Gary Houston and his wife Pat Houston, Whitney’s manager, and their daughter Rayah, other family members will also be featured. Whitney’s mother Cissy Houston, her daughter Bobbi Kristina and cousin Dionne Warwick will also appear in the series.

The supermodel was spotted sporting an angry red patch on her chest while doing a photo shoot on the beach this week. As you know, even a little sunburn can be very painful and uncomfortable but Gisele, ever the professional, didn’t seem to feel any discomfort as the photo shoot continued.

The nasty sunburn was quite obvious as she was only wearing a tiny crochet bikini top. Even with her long honey-colored hair tumbling down her chest and shoulders could not disguise it. The 31-year-old supermodel was also wearing torn jeans and layers of silver bangles and rings for the shoot.
