The guys did an okay job last week but didn’t do much better than the girls. I think you can tell that this was the girls’ week! The guys’ performances were a little odd and I can’t get over the fact that at the beginning of American Idol, the judges kept seeing that this year’s talents were amazing. Well, I don’t see it and I don’t think they see it either! This week is important because we get to see who makes it in the top 12!

The first to take the stage was Lee Dewyze, he sang “FireFlies” which is a new song. Lee keeps improving every week but, let’s be honest, he doesn’t have the best vocals on the show. He has odd pitches but good looks!

Last week, 8 girls took the stage to sing for their lives or careers, however you might consider it. Last week the girls did an excellent job. See, I can be positive when I see something I like!

The first performance wasn’t that interesting. Katie Stevens took the stage and sang “Break Away” by Kelly Clarkson. She broke my heart with it! Kara and Randy shared my sentiments by saying that Stevens doesn’t know herself as an artist yet and that the performance was like a karaoke.

Lebanese singer Carole Samaha has been very busy the past few weeks and will be busy for at least the coming two!
Carole was in Egypt last week, signing covers of her latest album and holding radio and TV interviews with Noujoum FM and Melody.
After Egypt, Carole jetted off to Abu Dhabi, Morocco and Sharm El Sheikh for concerts.

Egyptian singer Shireen has agreed to debut her baby girl "Mariam" on the cover of Charisma Magazine.
Mom and daughter look so cute together and little Mariam obviously looks like her mommy!
The Mother's Day special edition comes out just in time for Mother's Day, March 21st.
In the interview, Shireen talks about Mariam and how she felt seeing her for the first time after giving birth to her back in March 2008. She says that it was a very beautiful experience that made her feel as if she was reborn herself.

Lebanese singer Yara has finished shooting her latest video clip "Shefto Men Baed" with director Joe Bou Eid.
The story of the video takes place in an old, abandoned circus. Yara’s song brings back the circus to life.
Tarek Abou Jawdeh, makes a special appearance in the clip as a ticket salesman.

Have you heard of the cab driver that lost his life for Nancy Ajram?!
Well, according to the Lebanese magazine “Al Shabaka”, a driver was stabbed to death after a passenger told him to play Haifa Wehbe’s music instead of Nancy’s but the driver refused and they got into a huge fight.

Egyptian actress Ghada Abdel Raziq has decided to tie the knot again and enter the golden cage of matrimony this coming summer!
Ghada and fiance Mohammad Fouda got engaged last year after Ghada finalized her divorce from ex husband, producer Walid Al Tabii.
Ghada is currently working very hard, in order to take some time off for her upcoming wedding and honeymoon.

After months of suffering, Hani Shaker's daughter, Dina, has been declared cured and free of cancer.
Hani, his wife and daughter will be returning to Cairo very soon after spending time in France, after his daughter underwent the last of many surgeries to remove the cancerous cells from her abdomen.
A spokesperson for the singer said that he is extremely happy that his daughter has been cured and he has always had faith in God's mercy and ability to make her OK again.

Aside from poverty, pollution and global warming are some of the problems that are confronting our generation. Some people just shrug their shoulders when they hear about these things. However, this kind of nonchalance has no place in this critical day and age. All people must act; do what they can even in their little way to contribute in the preservation of the environment and earthly resources, of what’s left of them.
